Free cash flow yield (FCF yield) is a financial ratio that compares the free cash flow per share to the market value per share. The ratio is calculated by dividing free cash flow per share by the current share price.

Free cash flow yield is a good measure of the company’s cash flow in respect to the company’s size. Larger companies tend to have a higher cash flow yield, but it’s not always the case. The higher the ratio, the more attractive the investment is as it suggests that investors are paying less for each unit of free cash flow.
