Earlier in his career Mr. Barnard was a partner in the law firm of Kirkland & Ellis LLP and, prior to that, was vice president, general counsel, and secretary of LifeStyle Furnishings International Ltd., a manufacturer and distributor of residential furniture and decorative fabrics. He holds a B.S. degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology ("M.I.T"), a J.D. degree from the University of Minnesota, and an M.B.A. degree from the University of Chicago.
